We handle new and repaired subflooring, moisture testing and prep, and tongue-and-groove solid hardwood installed board by board — then sanded and finished on-site for a seamless, custom result. We install unfinished (site-finished) and prefinished hardwood, engineered wood, and take on condos with strict HOA sound requirements.

Who We Help

Hi-Tech Hardwood Floors serves homeowners throughout San Francisco, Marin County, and Oakland with two core specialties: installing new hardwood floors and refinishing existing ones. We install both unfinished (site-finished) and prefinished hardwood, and we handle condos with strict HOA requirements — including STC/IIC sound ratings and acoustical underlayment. We also offer dustless sanding, refinishing, recoating, and buffing to restore floors that are dull, scratched, or worn.

On new builds and full remodels, we do construction-level installation — new subfloor prep, tongue-and-groove solid hardwood laid board by board, then sanded and finished on-site. We work directly alongside general contractors, architects, and homeowners to deliver the floors in the home you're building.

Oak flooring is a longtime specialty. We refinish and restore all types of oak — red oak, white oak, antique oak, quarter-sawn oak, rift-sawn oak, character grade oak, and engineered oak. We also specialize in Douglas fir floors in San Francisco's Victorian and Edwardian homes. This is a family business — Andy and his son Harry are both on-site on every job, and Harry is your primary point of contact from estimate through completion.

Hi-Tech Hardwood Floors is a family-owned and operated business established in the San Francisco Bay Area in 1998. Founder Andy Tran has installed, sanded, refinished, and restored hardwood floors in over 5,000 Bay Area homes. His son Harry Tran now leads the business day-to-day — on-site on every project and your primary contact from first call through final walkthrough.

We install new hardwood floors — both unfinished (site-finished) and prefinished — and take on condos with strict HOA requirements, meeting STC/IIC sound-rating rules with the right acoustical underlayment. Refinishing is a longtime specialty too, across all oak types — red oak, white oak, antique oak, quarter-sawn, rift-sawn, character grade, and engineered oak — plus Douglas fir restoration for San Francisco's Victorian and Edwardian homes. We offer both water-based finishes (back in your home in 2–3 days) and oil-based finishes (4–8 days) depending on your needs and timeline.
